How Laundry Shops in Bali Charge

Pricing models vary widely across Bali laundry shops. Here are the four most common:

By weight tiers. Fixed price per weight band. For example, 0-3 kg is one price. 3-5 kg is another. Easy Day Laundry and most professional services use this model. It's predictable. You know the cost before you hand over your bag.

Per kilo. A flat rate per kilogram, usually Rp 8,000-20,000/kg. Check what's included. Some shops fold but don't iron. Others iron but charge extra for softener.

Minimum kilo. Some shops require a minimum weight. Below 2 kg or 3 kg, you pay the minimum price regardless. Annoying if you only have a few items.

Per piece. Hotels and some dry cleaners charge per item. Shirts run Rp 30,000-50,000. Dresses cost Rp 50,000-100,000. That works for one emergency item, but gets expensive fast with a full load.

Same price at all locations. Shoe care and bag care are specialist treatments. Your sneakers get cleaned and deodorized. Bags are treated for stains and conditioned.

Does Pickup and Delivery Cost Extra?

Depends on the service. Some embed delivery in their per-kilo rate. Others charge separately.

One more thing. You'll see small local laundries advertising very low prices. Rp 9,000/kg or less. Cheap doesn't always mean good. Check their Google reviews. Look at the age and condition of their machines before handing over your clothes. Old machines can damage fabric. Poor hygiene means your clothes come back smelling worse than they went in.
