Turnaround guarantees. Does the shop commit to a specific return time, or is it "when it's ready"? A reliable laundry tells you exactly when your clothes will be done and sticks to it.

Ironing included. We'd always recommend including ironing. Nobody wants their laundry returned wrinkled. Many cheap laundries skip ironing entirely to keep their per-kilo price low. Don't be deceived by a headline rate that looks like a bargain. Ask before handing over your bag whether ironing is included or an extra charge. If the price seems too good, ironing is probably not part of it.

Pickup and delivery. Saves a trip, especially if you're not within walking distance of a shop. Some services deliver across most of Canggu. Others only serve a small radius around their location.

Detergent quality. Some laundries use harsh chemicals that fade colors or irritate skin. If you have sensitive skin or care about what goes on your clothes, ask what detergent they use. Plant-based options are available but not common.

Express (5 hours). The option most visitors choose for maximum efficiency. Not every shop offers this. Those that do calculate the 5 hours from operating hours, not clock time. If a shop operates 8am to 8pm and you drop off at 7pm, your clothes won't be ready at midnight. The remaining hours carry over to the next morning. Staff should confirm the exact return time at drop-off.

24 hours. The standard for most quality laundries. Drop off in the morning, pick up the next morning.

2-3 days. Economy pricing with the same wash quality. You're paying less because the shop has more time to process your order when capacity allows.

Always confirm the return time at drop-off. Don't assume. A shop that says "24 hours" but means "sometime tomorrow" hasn't earned your return business.

Drop-off is free. No delivery fee. You walk or ride to the shop, hand over your bag, and pick it up when it's ready. Best for people who live close to a shop or want the fastest access to express service.
