Dry Cleaning in Bali: What's Available (2026)

You packed your best linen shirt for a dinner in Seminyak. Now it has a grease stain from a warung lunch and smells like motorbike exhaust. The hotel quoted you Rp 150,000 to clean it. There has to be a better option.
Dry cleaning in Bali works differently than what you might be used to back home. The good news is the result is usually the same. The cheaper news is the price. This article covers what dry cleaning actually means here, where to find it across Canggu, Seminyak, and Pererenan, what it costs, and when regular laundry is the better call.
What Does Dry Cleaning Mean in Bali?
Most laundries in Bali don't run true solvent-based dry cleaning. The machines and chemicals required are expensive, and the demand from the local market doesn't justify the setup.
What you'll find instead is "dry cleaning style" service. That means hand wash with gentle detergent, air dry away from direct sun, and hand-iron at the end. The result is the same kind of careful treatment you'd get at a dry cleaner abroad, done with water and patience instead of solvents.
At Easy Day Laundry, we run delicate items through a hand wash with plant-based detergent. Silk, linen, wool, structured jackets, and embroidered fabrics all go through this service. For most of what travellers and expats actually wear in Bali, this works better than chemical dry cleaning anyway. Bali's humidity means clothes pick up odour fast, and frequent gentle washing keeps them fresher than saving up for one solvent cycle.
When does true chemical dry cleaning matter? Wedding dresses, heavy wool coats, structured suits with strict care labels. For those, you'll need a specialist hotel service or to send the item to Jakarta. For everything else, hand wash and press handles the job.

How Much Does Dry Cleaning Cost in Bali?
Pricing in Bali is by piece for delicates, not by kilo.
Hand wash for delicate items at Easy Day costs Rp 10,000 per piece across all four shops. Stain removal is Rp 20,000 per piece. That's flat. A linen shirt, a silk blouse, or a wool trouser are all the same price.
For comparison, our standard wash and fold starts from Rp 15,000 per kilo. Wash, dry, iron, and fold from Rp 20,000 per kilo. So a single delicate piece is cheaper than running a full kilo of regular laundry.
Express turnaround isn't an option for hand-washed delicates. The items have to fully air dry, which takes a minimum of two days in Bali's humidity. Drop them off at the start of your stay rather than the day before a dinner.
Hotel dry cleaning, by contrast, typically charges Rp 100,000 to 200,000 per piece for the same kind of work. The hotel sends the laundry out to a service like ours and marks it up. You pay the convenience tax.

What Items Can and Can't Be Dry Cleaned in Bali?
Most fabrics handle the hand wash and press service well.
Always check the care label before you drop your items off. This is the single most useful habit with delicate clothing. The label tells you the wash temperature, whether the piece can tumble dry, and whether it's flagged "dry clean only" or "hand wash only." Snap a quick photo of the label and show it at drop-off. Any honest laundry will follow the label, or flag the item back to you if they can't treat it. If a shop doesn't ask about labels at all, that's a warning sign.
Items we accept for delicate hand wash: linen shirts, silk blouses, wool trousers, structured blazers, embroidered fabrics, kebayas, and lightweight dresses. Anything with a "dry clean only" care label gets the same hand wash treatment, since solvent cleaning isn't widely available in Bali.
Items that need extra care: fur, heavily beaded formal wear, and structured suits with strict care instructions. These often need a specialist outside Bali. Easy Day Laundry doesn't treat leather or suede pieces, since both need specialist conditioning outside our current service range.
Items we don't take: anything with broken zippers or torn linings that can't be safely washed, items with dried paint or industrial chemicals, and pieces that have been previously treated with home remedies that may have set stains permanently.

Dry Cleaning vs Regular Laundry: When Does It Matter?
For most everyday clothes in Bali, regular laundry is fine. Cotton t-shirts, activewear, denim, swimwear, and most cotton dresses go through the standard wash and iron service without issue.
Hand wash and press matters for:
- Structured garments that would lose shape in a machine (blazers, fitted shirts, lined dresses)
- Silk, cashmere, and fine wool that need gentle handling
- Linen if you want it ironed properly without machine creasing
- Anything with delicate trim, embroidery, or beading
Bali's humidity also shifts the calculus. Clothes pick up odour faster here than in dry climates. You'll wear and wash everything more often, which means saving items for occasional dry cleaning makes less sense than it does back home. Frequent gentle washing keeps everything fresher.
